The studio

A small shop for small shops.

Ægentes is a web studio that does one thing with unreasonable care: websites for people whose name is over the door. We keep the client list short and the standards high, and we answer our own email.

Why “Ægentes”

The ones who do.

The name comes from the Latin agentes — the doers, the ones who act. It's what we admire in our clients: people who open early, fix the thing, bake the bread, make the call. And it's the promise we make as a studio — less talking about the work, more work.

And if the word makes you think of agents — hold that thought. The web is about to get a lot better at doing things for small businesses, and we intend to bring our clients along first.

House rules.

  1. If your customers can’t use it, it isn’t done.

We test on cracked phones and slow connections, not just studio monitors.

  2. Fast beats clever.

A site that loads in a blink sells more than one that wins design prizes and takes six seconds.

  3. You own everything.

Domain, files, accounts, photos — in your name from day one. No hostages.

  4. Plain English, plain invoices.

If we can’t explain it across a counter, we don’t say it. One number, agreed up front.

  5. We only take work we can make excellent.

A short client list is the point. You get the whole bench, not a corner of it.

  6. Launch is the start, not the finish.

Shops change — menus, prices, seasons. Your site should keep up without a support ticket.

Small by design

A deliberately small studio: the person you brief is the person who designs and builds. Nothing is handed down a chain.

Built to hand over

Every site ships with an hour of training and notes you can actually follow. Independence is part of the deliverable.

Around after launch

Most clients stay for the small stuff — seasonal updates, new photos, a page for the new service. We like it that way.
